Ingredients
- TOPPING:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soft shortening
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 c blueberries (well drained if using frozen & thawed)
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/3 c flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Cool whip (if desired after baking)
- 1/4 c soft butter

Step 1
Preheat oven 375 degrees
Grease and flour 9" square pan
Mix thoroughly together the sugar, shortening and egg
Stir in the milk
Sift together and mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt
Blend in blueberries
Spread batter in baking pan
Mix together topping ingredients with a fork -- this will be a crumb type mixture
Sprinkle the topping over the batter
Bake 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until done
Serve warm, fresh from oven with cool whip (if preferred)
Store covered with foil. This does not need to be refrigerated.
