Ingredients
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 t. olive oil
- 1 t. sugar
- 1 env. active dry yeast
- Optional: salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried oregano and dried basil to taste
- 3-1/2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
- Garnish: pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, desired pizza toppings

Preparation
Step 1
Heat water until very warm, about 110 to 115 degrees; pour into a large bowl. Add olive oil, sugar and yeast; stir to dissolve and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and seasonings, as desired. Add 2 cups flour mixture, one cup at a time, to yeast mixture; stir until dough is easy to handle. Knead dough on a floured surface until no longer sticky, adding remaining flour as needed. Cover with a tea towel; let rise for 30 minutes.
Flatten dough to desired thickness on a round pizza pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes; let cool for several minutes. Spread with sauce; add cheese and toppings. Bake at 400 degrees for an additional 15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
Makes one pizza.
