Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (13-16 oz)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups half & half
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 T. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Dash salt
  • Praline topping
  • Maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Slice french bread into 20 slices, 1" each. Arrange slices in 9X13 baking dish coated with cooking spray. Overlap slices.

In large bowl, combine eggs, half & half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Beat well. Pour mixture over bread slices, making sure all slices are covered evenly. Spoon some mixture between slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven 350.

Prepare praline topping and spread evenly over bread and bake 40 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Serve with syrup.

Praline topping:
Combine 1 stick butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 T. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
