  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk, canned
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

Step 1

Saute onions in oil only until clear, not brown. Pour in mixing bowl. Add eggs, milk, soy sauce, oats and salt. Stir well. If quick oats are used, set mixture aside for 10 minutes. If old-fashioned oats are used, let stand 30 minutes.

Fry burgers in moderate amount of oil, making patties thick and about 2 inches in diameter. Fry at a moderate heat. Place patties in a casserole dish. Cover with water and 3 tbsp soy sauce. Bake at 350 F until most of the water is absorbed.
