Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups red chili beans or (2 1/2 cups) caned kidney beans
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 T. fat
- (3 1/2 cups) tomatoes
- 1 1/2 t. salt
- Dash paprika
- Dash cayenne pepper
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 to 2 T. chili powder

Step 1
Soak chili beans overnight. Cook in boiling, salted water until tender. Drain. Brown onion, green pepper and meat in hot fat. Add tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer 1 hours adding water if necessary. Add beans; heat thoroughly. Makes 6 serving.
