Cookies: Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 3 Tbls. cream or milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 3 cup flour
• 1/2 teas. Baking powder
• 1/2 teas. Salt

Preparation

Step 1

In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Add vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients until well mixed. Chill dough to make it easier to handle.

Preheat oven to 400.

Roll out dough (1/3 at a time) on lightly floured surface to 1/8” thick (I like thicker). Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Decorate if desired. Bake 5-8 minutes.
