Ingredients

  • 8 lbs.beef
  • 6 tbsp. Oil
  • 10 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 tbsp. Paprika
  • 3 TBSP Caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 medium potatoes

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat in oil.
Add onions and garlic until onions are translucent.
Add paprika, bay leaves, caraway seeds, water and broth.
Bring to boil.
Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
Add potatoes and simmer for 45 minutes.
Stir in tomato paste and red wine, salt and pepper.
Remove bay leaves prior to serving.
