Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • Icing:
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients and beat for 1 minute on low speed. Continue beating for 2 minutes on medium speed. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13" cake pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Icing:
In saucepan, beat egg yolks. Add milnot, sugar, and butter. Cook over medium high until mixture thickens about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, coconut, and nuts. Frost warm cake. Cool and refrigerate.
