CHICKEN PROVOLONE WITH MARINARA SAUCE 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 cup SEASONED FLOUR
  • 2 EGGS plus 1/4 cup of WATER, whisked together
  • 1 cup ITALIAN STYLE BREADCRUMBS
  • 4 BONELESS, SKINLESS, CHICKEN BREASTS
  • 1/4 cup OLIVE OIL
  • 1 jar (26 oz.) MARINARA SAUCE
  • 4 slices SMOKED PROVOLONE CHEESE

Preparation

Step 1

1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

2. Starting with 3 empty bowls, add flour, eggs and breadcrumbs to each bowl separately.

3. Dip 1 chicken breast in each bowl to coat (beginning with flour and ending with breadcrumbs). Lay breaded chicken on a clean non-stick baking sheet. Repeat until all of chicken is coated.

4. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick deep skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned. Turn chicken to brown other side. DO NOT turn more than once.

5. When chicken is browned, remove from pan and place on baking sheet. Finish cooking in the oven for 10 - 15 minutes.

6. Remove from oven, spoon sauce over chicken and top with 1 slice of cheese. Bake just to melt cheese.
