- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint or vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- dash of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup chocolate pieces
Beat egg whites, extract, cream of tartar, and salt until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
Fold chocolate pieces into egg mixture.
Cover baking sheet with paper bag.
Drop cookie mixture by teaspoons onto paper.
Top each cookie with a chocolate piece.
Bake in slow oven at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from paper to cooling rack while slightly warm.
