Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, grated or chopped
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 5 whole all-spice
  • 1 tsp red pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 4 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles
  • 1 bag oyster crackers
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 can beans (for topping)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (for topping)

Preparation

Step 1

1) In 4-qt pot, add 2 1/2 quarts water & ground beef. Boil for 30 minutes until beef is a fine texture.
2) Add onions, tomato sauce, all-spice, red pepper, ground cumin, chili powder, unsweetened chocolate, garlic, vinegar, bay leaf, cloves, Worcestershire sauce, salt & cinnamon.
3) Simmer for 3 hours uncovered on low heat. May be covered for last hour.
4) Refrigerate chili overnight.
5) Remove fat from top of chili before re-heating. Re-heat on stove.
6) Cook pasta as directed on package.
7) Add beans, onions, chili, cheese & oyster crackers on top of noodles.
