  • 4 tart apples, pared, cored, cut in wedges
  • 6 Tablespoons flour
  • 6 Tablespoons rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • 6 Tablespoons butter or margarine

Step 1

Place apples in a shallow, 1 quart baking dish.

In a medium bowl combine dry ingredients; cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly; sprinkle over apples.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 30 minutes until apples are tender and top is browned.

Serve warm, either plain or with whipped cream/ice cream.

Yield: 6 servings
