Ingredients

    cups thinly sliced cucumbers

  • 1/2

    cup course salt

  • 6

    cups sliced onions

  • 2

    cauliflower

  • Ice cubes

  • 4

    cups white vinegar

  • 5

    cups granulated sugar

  • 2

    tbsp mustard seeds

  • 1

    tbsp celery seed

  • 1

    tbsp tumeric

  • 1/2

    tsp white pepper

Directions

Combine cucumbers, salt, onions and cauliflower. Mix in ice cubes to cover and let stand for 2-3 hours, or until cucumbers are crisp and cold. Add more ice cubes as needed. Drain and wash thoroughly. In a large kettle combine sugar, vinegar, celery seed, tumeric, white pepper and mustard seed. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes. Add sliced vegetable mixture and bring to a boil. Pack at once into hot sterilized jars and seal. Store in a cool place 1 month before using.
