Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups walnuts, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a tube pan.

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in one egg at a time. In a medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Stir flour mixture into butter/sugar mixture alternately with the sour cream, then the vanilla.

Mix cinnamon, nuts and sugar. Fold into batter; save some to top of cake.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
