Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. cornstarch
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbs. butter
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8X8 pan.
In bowl, cream together butter & sugar, blending until well mixed. Add vanilla & eggs 1 @ a time, blending well after each addition. In separate bowl, sift together flour, cornstarch, cinnamon & baking powder. It is particularly IMPORTANT to sift cornstarch. Add to 1st bowl about 1/3 @ a time, blending on low speed to combine. Add milk & blend until smooth. Pour or spoon into baking dish & sprinkle on topping. To make topping: cut cold butter into small pieces, combine dry ingredients & sprinkle with vanilla. Rub between fingers until crumbly & blended.
Bake @ 350 degrees 45-50 min., until top springs back or toothpick inserted comes out clean.
