Ingredients

  • 3 # firm white fish such as cod, cut into large pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 cup malt vinegar
  • 2 cups beer
  • Canola oil, for frying

Step 1

Mix all dry ingredients. Mix together malt vinegar and beer.

Add dry ingredients to the vinegar-beer mix.

Dip fish pieces in mixture, coating thouroughly, then deep-fry until golden brown and fish is cooked through.
