Ingredients
- Amaretto frosting:
- 2/3 c. blanched almonds, toasted
- 1 8 oz. semisweet chocolate
- 1/3 c. margarine or butter
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tbsp. amaretto
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp. margarine or butter softened
- 1 tbsp. amaretto
- 1 to 2 tbsp. milk

Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease rectangular pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Place 1/3 c. almonds in food processor. Cover and process, until almonds are ground. Chop remaining almonds; reserve. Heat chocolate and margarine in 3 qt. saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted; remove from heat. Stir in almond pieces and remaining ingredients. Spread batter in pan. Bake 22 to 27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Prepare amaretto frosting by blending all ingredients until smooth. Spread on brownies; sprinkle with reserved chopped almonds.
