Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 c unsalted butter, room temp
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c milk
  • Rosemary,, lemon& pepper
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh rosemary or 1/2 tsp dry
  • 1/2 tsp lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Coarse or Kosher salt (sprinkle on top)
  • Mediterranean
  • Drain 1 sun-dried tomato packed in oil and pat dry with paper towel. Finely chopped.
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped pimento stuffed green olives
  • 1 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Note: Variations are for 1/3 of recipe

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350
Line baking sheet with parchment.
In medium bowl, stir flour with baking powder and salt. Place butter in a large bowl. Using electric mixer on medium gradualy beat in sugar until well mixed, about 2 min., Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Occasionally scrape down side of bowl. Beat in milk. Reduce speed to low. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Scrape down side of bowl as needed.
Lightly dust counter with flour. turn out dough. It will be slightly stick Cut into 3 equal portions. form each into 2 logs . Place on baking sheet as they are formed. Gently flatten each log so it is about 2 in wide. bake in centre of oven until golden brown. About 20-25 mins. remove from oven. Let cool on sheet 5 mins.
Cut on diagonal and put back in oven for 8 mins. turning over.
