Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 (15 ounce) jar salsa or taco sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican-blend cheese
  • Optional: guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, for serving

Preparation

Step 1

1.Spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
2.In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion until no longer pink. Drain and return to skillet. Stir in taco seasoning and some water (as called for on seasoning package) and sauté for a few more minutes.
3.Meanwhile, remove biscuits from can and cut each biscuit into quarters.
4.In a large bowl, toss together biscuits, salsa, and cheese. Fold in cooked taco meat.
5.Spread mixture evening into prepared dish and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and biscuits are golden brown and no longer doughy.
6.Serve with guacamole, sour cream, and additional salsa, if desired.
