  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • boiling water
  • 4 slices bacon
  • green onions; sliced
  • 1/4 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • freshly ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Shred a head of cabbage. Pour in boiling water to cover, let stand 10 minutes; then drain. Fry 4 slices of bacon, chop. Stir sliced green onions and 1/4 cup cider vinegar into drippings. Add 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Toss with cabbage; add freshly ground pepper.
