  • SYRUP:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • Equal parts water and maple syrup



Step 1

Beat eggs slightly. Mix dry ingredients. Add milk alittle at a time. Add eggs and mix well and let stand while preparing syrup.

Bring syrup to a high boil in a large saucepan. drop dumplings into syrup by tablespoon. Lower heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, turning dumplings over after 10 minutes. Make sure the pan has enough syrup for the beignets float.
