Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 pounds candied cherries
- 2 pounds candied pineapple
- 2 pounds mixed fruits
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 2 tablespoons sweet milk
- 6 cups pecans
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup claret
- 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, and rum extract
- 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 3 cups flour

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar. Add 1 egg at a time and beat; add wine and milk and beat well. Sift the dry ingredients and add. Sprinkle fruits and pecans with 1/2 cup flour and add them to the mixture.
Drop by spoonfuls on a greased tin. Bake in a 300F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 200 cookies.
Store in a tin can to be frozen.
