Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Bars

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup sugar, divided
- 1 1/4 cup unsalted butter, divided
- (2 1/2 sticks)
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish (you can also line with foil sprayed with Pam)
In large bowl, combine flour and 1/2 cup of sugar. Slice two sticks of butter into small pieces and use fork or pastry blender to cut butter into flour and sugar until looks like corn meal Press into bottom of prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes or until crust begins to turn brown. Remove from oven and lower heat to 350.
While crust is baking melt 1/2 stick of butter. In large bowl combine butter, 1 cup sugar, corn syrup, cocoa powder and salt. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in bourbon and pecans.
Carefully pour mix over baked crust. Bake for 4e0 minutes or until set. Cut into 30 squares when completely cooled. Sprinkle with powdered sugar is desired.
