Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Measure flour, sugar, baking soda, spices and salt in large mixing bowl. Whisk to combine.

Combine wet ingredients in a small bowl; whisk to combine.

Using a mixer add wet ingredients to dry ingredients beating at low speed, until well blended.

Shape dough into balls, roll in sugar and place about 1 1/2" apart on cookie sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and place on cookie racks to cool.
