Wilted Spinach Salad with Steak and Pasta

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 3/4 teaspoon dried tarragon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 1/2 pounds top round sirloin steak
- 6 ounces whole grain penne pasta
- salt and black pepper
- 1 package (10 ounces) spinach, rinsed, dried, and torn into bite-size pieces
- 1 red onion, cut into thin wedges
- 1/2 cup golden raisins

Step 1
Coat a grill rack or broiler pan with cooking spray. Preheat the grill or broiler.
Whisk together the vinegar, oil, garlic, basil, tarragon, and cumin in a measuring cup. Transfer 1/2 cup to a 13" x 9" baking dish and add the steak. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or up to 24 hours. Cover and refrigerate the remaining oil mixture.
Prepare the pasta according to the package directions; drain.
Remove the steak from the marinade; discard the marinade. Grill or broil the steak for 10 to 14 minutes, turning once, until a thermometer inserted in the center registers 145°F for medium-rare or 160°F for medium. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing into thin strips. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the spinach in a large bowl. Toss with the pasta, onion, raisins, and the remaining oil mixture. Divide among 6 plates. Top with the steak.
