Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled, diced apples
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Glaze:
  • 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, cinnamon, salt and soda together. Set aside 1/2 of this mixtures to flour nts and apples.
Combine eggs, sugar and add well beaten eggs and vanilla extract.
Add dry ingredients. Stir in nuts and apple mixture.
Bake 300 degrees in prepared bundt pan for 1 hour 20 minutes. Check often. Poke holes in cake. Pour glaze over. Turn out and poke holes in other side of cake and pour remaining glaze over.

Glaze:
Boil all glaze ingredients for 2 minutes and pour over warm cake.
