Light Wheat Beer Bread

Easy beer bread is reduced fat and sugar and adds whole wheat flour. Using a light beer reduces the calorie count even more! Tastes so good, you would never know its light!

Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups bread flour (or all purpose flour)
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons Splenda sugar substitute
- 12 ounces beer
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Step 1
1 Preheat oven to 375. 2 Mix dry ingredients and beer. 3 Pour into a greased loaf pan. 4 Pour melted butter over mixture. 5 Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Note:
This recipe makes a nice hearty bread that is much healthier than most. I opted to use 4 tbsp of sugar and skip the splenda, and I also left out the butter on the top. Instead, I sprinkled the with sesame seeds. It was great warm shortly after coming out of the oven, and also was great the next day smeared with fig preserves. This one is a winner. BTW, I used a Bud Light beer and the beer flavor was barely noticeable (which is what I wanted).
