Ingredients
- Topping:
- 5 pounds McIntosh or Macoun apples
- zest of 1 orange
- zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoons nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 2 sticks diced cold butter

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350*
Butter a 9 x 14 pan
Cut apples into large wedges after peeled. Combine the apples with the zests, juices, sugar and spices. Pour into the dish.
Topping:
Combine flour sugars and oatmeal and cold butter in electric mixer. Mix on low speed until mixture is crumbly and the butter is the size of peas. Scatter over the apples.
Place the crisp on a sheet pan and bake for one hour until the top is brown and bubbly.
