Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 T baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 T shortening
- 2/3 c. cold water

Step 1
Start heating corn oil. Combine dry ingredients and sift into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Add enough water to make a stiff dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Cover with dish towel for 10 minutes. Roll dough into a very thin rectangle. Cut into three inch squares.
When oil is hot drop a few of the squares into it. Turn frequently so they will puff up evenly. Remove and drain on paper towel. Serve hot with honey.
