  • 1 28oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 1 c shredded mozzarella cheese

Step 1

Combine tomatoes, onions & basil in a large skillet. Bring to boil; simmer uncovered over medium heat until thickened, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Combine oil & garlic powder. Slice bread in half lengthwise, place cut side up on large baking sheet. Place under broiler to toast bread. Brush bread with garlic oil. Spread tomato mixture evenly over bread; sprinkle with cheese. Place under broiler until cheese melts, about 2 minutes
