Ingredients
- FOR SINGLE RECIPE:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- Batter for Crust:
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal
- FOR DOUBLE RECIPE:
- 2 poundS ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Batter for Crust:
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoonS cornmeal

Preparation
Step 1
In a large skillet or saucepan, brown ground beef and onions together. Drain off drippings.
To meat and onions in pan, stir in cream cheese and water. Stir over low heat until cream cheese is melted. Stir in salt and oregano and set aside.
Combine eggs, flour, salt and milk in a small plastic container with a lid. Shake until smooth. Or mix in a mixing bowl with a whisk.
Pour batter into a greased 9" pie plate. Sprinkle with cornmeal.
Spoon meat mixture over batter leaving 1/2 inch space around edges.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
Top with diced tomato when serving, if desired.
