Popcorn Balls

Possibly one of my Mother's (Jeannette Costigan's) recipes. I remember a time when she served popcorn balls at one of her parties and someone broke a tooth on one.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup light molasses
- 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp vinegar
- 1 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 cups popped corn

Step 1
Stir molasses, syrup and vinegar in a saucepan and cook to 270 F or until some of the syrup when tried in cold water becomes slightly brittle. Add butter, stir only enough to mix and pour the syrup slowly over the salted popcorn. Form into balls using as little pressure as possible.
