Ingredients

  • 1 lb bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped onion
  • 1 12 oz can tomato paste
  • 3 28 oz cans Italian style or plain crushed tomatoes in puree
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tsp. minced garlic
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 4 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 16 oz package spaghetti

Step 1

In a large pot, cook and stir the sausage and onion until the meat is brown, about 15 min. drain the fat. Add remaining ingredients, except noodles.
bring to a boil; reduce heat. partly cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
After sauce is cooled, freeze the sauce in the containers indicated below.
To prepare for spaghetti, thaw sauce and heat in a medium saucepan. Cook noodles according to package and drain and pour sauce over the noodles.

Summary of process:
chop: 1 1/2 cups onion and 4 Tbsp. parsley
Freeze In: 9-cup container for spaghetti
