Ingredients

  • Cookies
  • 2 Cups Butter
  • 1 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 3/4 Teasapoons Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 1/4 Cup Bread Flour
  • Colored Dipping Icing
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 9 Cups Powdered Sugar, Divided
  • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 3/4 Cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • Food Coloring if desired

Preparation

Step 1

Cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Make sure butter is very cold. Soften butter in mixer.

Add sugar, salt and vanilla. Mix until smooth only,

Add egg, blend in. Add flour, mix until dough is stiff and waxy.

Refrigerate dough until firm.

Roll out dough between two pieces of wax paper,.

Using cookie cutter, cut out desired shapes. Place shapes onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 13 minutes.

Prepare colored dipping icing.

Once cooled, place cookies on a wire rack. Pour warm dipping icing over the entire cookie. Allow to cool. Decorate as desired.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Colored Dipping Icing
Add water, graulated sugar, and 1/2 cup powdered sugar to a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil.

Add vegetable oil, and corn syrup in a new mixing bowl and add the cooked mixture to it.

Add remaining powdered sugar and mix on low speed until all lumps are gone. Add vanilla mix well.

Add food coloring to get desired color.

Use while still warm.
