Ingredients
- 1 lb. extra lean ground sirloin
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 or 2 red, yellow, or orange peppers, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 14.5oz can diced tomatoes, no salt added
- Italian seasonings
- 1 lb. shredded 2% mozzarella cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425F
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, coook 3 minutes, turn down heat to medium. Add the onions, peppers, and garlic. Continue cooking about 5 more minutes, or until the beef is thorooughly browned and the onions are soft.
Add the tomatoes and seasonings, and cook another 8-10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
Place the ground beef mixture on the bottom of a large shallow glassware dish. Top with the shredded mozzarella chees, and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until slightly browned.
Note: you can add any additional veggies, such as mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, etc. you can also bake it in the skillet if it is oven safe.
