Ingredients
- 8 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 bunch celery, chopped
- 5 or 6 onions, diced
- 1 large (28-oz.) can tomatoes, chopped
- 3 strips *Drier's* bacon, chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef, crumbled
- 3 green bell peppers, chopped
- 1 tsp. allspice
- salt and pepper
- crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1 (15.5-oz.) can kidney beans

Preparation
Step 1
Pace potatoes in a large pot or roasting pan and cover them with water. Add celery, onions, tomatoes, bacon, beef, bell peppers, allspice, salt, pepper and crushed red pepper, if using. Add kidney beans at the last hour of cooking. Soup should simmer on low heat all day long for good flavor.
