Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup dried apricots (snipped into 1/2-inch pieces)
  • Cranberries or blueberries
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Rub/cut butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in sugar and fruit. Beat egg and add to dry ingredients with milk. Mix until well blended. Place on floured surface and knead 10 times. Cut in half, pat each half to approximately 3/4-inch thickness, cut into 8 wedges. Place on baking sheet. Brush with milk, sprinkle with raw sugar. Bake at 450 F for 15 minutes.
