Ingredients

  • 1 baked pie shell
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 c. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 2/3 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 Tbsp. Sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

Step 1

To make filling: Mix over medium heat condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring for 5 minutes then slowly beat with a spoon until mixture thickens, about 2 minutes. Don't over beat or it will harden too much. Pour mixture into pie crust and refrigerate for an hour.
To make topping: Over low heat, cook chocolate chips and butter until melted. Stir in condensed milk and mix well. Cool just enough so that yolk won't cook when added, about 3 minutes. Stir in yolk and spread over cooled filling. Chill.
