Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 cup water
• 2 sticks butter
• 5 tablespoons cocoa
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• ICING
• 1 stick butter
• 5 tablespoon cocoa
• 6 tablespoons milk
• 1 box 16oz powdered sugar sifted
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

combine sugar,flour,and cinnamon,and set aside
put water, butter and cocoa in pan and bring to a boil
pour ober sugar mixture and stir well. stir buttermilk into
mixture to cool, then add eggs, soda, and vanilla
pour in grease and floured 9 X 13 pan
bake about 25 minutes
let cake cool 5 to 10 minutes

bring butter, cocoa, and milk to boil in sauce pan
remove from heat and immediately stir in powdered sugar,
pecans and vanilla
pour atop cake
