Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp grated orange zest (rind)
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Dash salt
  • 2 cups fresh huckleberries (or frozen berries, thawed)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar and cornstarch in medium saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients; cook and stir over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes or in microwave oven, stirring after each minute, until thickened.

Serve on pancakes, waffles, blintzes, ice cream, frozen yogurt, puddings, pound or angel food cake.
