Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 4 anchovy fillets
  • 1/2 cup olives, pitted
  • 1 Tbsp capers
  • 1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
  • Crushed red pepper, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Sauté the onion, garlic and anchovies, in the olive oil, until the anchovies dissolve, about 5 minutes.

Add the olives and capers and sauté for another minute.

Add the tomatoes. Add water to your desired thickness.

Season with salt, pepper and the crushed red pepper, to taste.

Stir and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
