Ingredients
- CAKE
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 C water
- 4 T cocoa powder
- 2 C flour
- 2 C sugar
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C buttermilk (1/2 C buttermilk + 1 T vinegar)
- FROSTING
- 1 stick butter
- 4 T cocoa powders
- 6 T milk
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 lb. confectioners sugar, sifted
- 1 C nuts (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in pan. Boil with water and cocoa, then simmer for a few minutes. Cool.
In large bowl mix flour and sugar. Then add baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
Mix eggs and buttermilk in a bowl with dry ingredients. Beat in vanilla and pour in a 10x14 pan. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool before frosting.
To make frosting: Boil all ingredients except sugar and nuts and remove from heat. Slowly add sugar. Spread while still warm, sprinkling with nuts if desired.
