Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Pastry for double crust pie
  • 1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat
2. Sauté onion until tender. Remove and set aside
3. Brown beef and pork together. Drain. Combine onion, meat, potatoes and seasonings
4. Line pie plate with pastry. Fill with meat mixture. Top with crust. Seal and flute edges. Make slits in top crust. Brush with egg if desired
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown
