Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1/4 C butter
  • 1-1/2 C sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T cocoa
  • 2 oz red food coloring
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 C buttermilk
  • 2 C flour
  • 1-1/2 t baking powder
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1 reg size vanilla pudding ( cooked & cooled)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 lg container coolwhip

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, sugar & eggs. Make a paste of the food coloring & cocoa. Combine the mixtures. Mix salt, vanilla & buttermilk. Add alternately with flour. Mix baking soda & vinegar then fold into batter. ( do not beat after folding in baking soda & vinegar). Bake in 2 layers at 350* for 30 mins.
Frosting:
Whip pudding & cream cheese together then fold in cool whip to taste.
