Marinated Flank Steak

Ingredients
- Marinade
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled, minced
- 1/3 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh minced ginger, or 1/4 teaspoon ground
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 Fland Steak about 1 1/2 pounds flank steak

Preparation
Step 1
In a food processor fitted with metal blade, place all the marinade ingredients. Process until the onions are pureed.
Pour marinade into a large plastic sealable bag. Add the steak and carefully squeeze as much of the air out as possible. Place bag in a shallow trand and refrigerate for 12-24 hours.
Remove the steak from the bag, pat it dry thoroughly and let it come to room temperature.
Preheat the broiler on high and place the rack and broiler pans so that the surface of the meat is 2 inches from the element or flame.
Cook the steak for 3 minutes per side for rare, 4 minutes per side for medium.
Remove the steak from the broiler and let it rest for 5 minutes, then thinly slice it on an angle across the grain and serve.
ALTERNATIVELY:
Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
Oil the grill grate. Place steaks on the grill, and discard the marinade. Grill meat for 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.
