Ingredients

  • 3 cups (12oz) Swiss cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups (3oz) Gruyere cheese, room temperature
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp dry sherry
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1" cubes

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix the Swiss cheese, Gruyere cheese and flour in a bowl. Bring the white wine just to a boil in a pan over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and add cheese mixture gradually, stirring until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth. Bring just to a simmer an stir in the sherry, milk, garlic powder, nutmeg and white pepper.

2. Spoon into a fondue pot. Provide fondue forks to dip the bread cubes into the fondue. You may also serve the fondue with bite size fruits and vegetables
