Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sweet Italian sausage, casing removed
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 cup Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Tortilla chips
  • 18 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded, or more
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, or more
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp natural hickory seasoning (smoke)
  • 1 tbsp Accent flavor enhancer

Step 1

1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, Cook and scramble sausage and onions until sausage is no longer pink, stirring to break up meat. Drain off excess fat

2. Stir in chili sauce, vinegar, hickory seasoning, Accent and chili powder. Heat to a boil; reduce heat to low/ Cover; simmer for 10 mins.

To serve: For each serving, arrange some tortilla chips on a heat-proof plate leaving center area open. Place about 1/3 cup of sausage mixture in center opening of chips, sprinkle chips with some cheese and tomatoes. Bake at 425F for 2-3 mins or until cheese melts. Serve immediately.
