Ingredients

  • singe 8-9" crust:
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. + 1 tsp. shortening
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • double 8-9" crust:
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. shortening + 1 tbsp.
  • 4 tbsp. water

Preparation

Step 1

1. mix flour and salt in large bowl, cut shortening into flour with pastry blender or fork until very fine.
2. add water, mix into ball, roll out.
3. for double crust divide dough in half.
4. place dough in pie pans.
5. bake at 400F until slightly browned.
