- 2/3 CUP UNSALTED BUTTER SOFTENED
- 1/3 CUP GRANULATED SUGAR
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 EGG PLUS 1 YOLK
- TOPPING
- 3 TBSP CORN SYRUP
- 1/4 CUP PACKED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
- 1/4 CUP UNSALTED BUTTER
- 2 TBSP MILK
- 1 1/2 CUP UNSALTED ROASTED PEANUTS

Step 1
IN LARGE BOWL, BEAT BUTTER AND SUGAR UNTIL WELL BLENDED GRADUALLY ADD FLOUR. ADD EGG AND YOLK MIX WELL UNTIL BLENDED. PRESS DOUGH EVENLY IN THE BOTTOM AND UP SIDES OF JELLY ROLL PAN. PRICK DOUGH ALL OVER WITH FORK; CHILL 20 MINUTES. BAKE ON PREHEATED 250 OVEN FOR 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL VERY LIGHTLY COLORED. IN SMALL PAN BRING ALL TOPPING INGREDIENTS EXCEPT PEANUTS TO A BOIL REMOVE FROM HEAT; STILL IN PEANUTS. SPREAD OVER PRE BAKED DOUGH. BAKE 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL TOPPING IS BUBBLY. COOL IN PAN ON RACK. CUT INTO 2 BY 1/2 INCH BARS. STORE LOOSELY COVERED IN WAX PAPER BETWEEN LAYERS.
