Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups coffee (liquid), lukewarm
- 1/2 pound melted lard or butter
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup grape jelly
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 7 to 8 cups flour

Step 1
mix sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, allspice and salt together. Add lukewarm coffee and melted lard. Add jelly and nuts.
Mix one cup flour and baking powder together add and stir well. Keep adding flour until a fairly stiff but slightly sticky dough is formed. Take about a teaspoon of dough, place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Do not roll into a ball; leave it rough. Continue until all dough is used. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for no more than 10 minutes (cookies should be fudgy). Cool on racks.
To frost: make a runny glaze of confectioners sugar and milk. Place about 15 cookies at a time in a bowl and pour a small amount of glaze over them; toss. Let dry on a rack.
